It has been a slow month so far but this week we have four Batman comics to talk about.  These four books are Detective Comics #937, Nightwing #1, Batgirl #1, and Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth #1.

First in Detective Comics #937 Batman is captured by the military and learns that there is a group of the special forces that are using his image to disguise their soldiers.  The thing that I found interesting about this issue is that this is not the first time this idea came up.  About a year and a half ago Arkham Manor Endgame #1 used a similar idea in that issue.  I wonder if this is a co-incidence or will they tie this story line into the current story.

Dick Grayson returns to be the hero Nightwing only to go undercover to infiltrate the Court of Owls in Nightwing #1.  This was a great first issue to a storyline I can see continuing for a year.  I like the direction that the writer is taking Nightwing and I can’t wait to see how this new Nightwing story develops.

Barbara Gordon is backpacking to Asia with an old friend in Batgirl #1.  This is another great first issue.  It is something we have never seen before with this character and it could lead to some great story lines.  The problem is it doesn’t make it clear if it takes place before or after the current story line of Batgirl and the Birds of Prey.  In the future issues I hope they make it known as to where in the time line this story takes place.

Finally we have Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth #1.  This entire issue was just a recap of everything that the Red Hood has been in so far.  Yes, there is new content but it is just a backdrop to the recap.  If you want to save your money, do not pick this up if you are already caught up the other Red Hood titles.
